3257: R28 Distance Sensor Clarification
Is it legal to cut off or remove somehow the plastic side mounts of a distance sensor? R28 says no modifications to electronics, but this modification would not affect the functionality of this electronic.

<R28> will be revised in the December 3 game manual update to allow Teams to cut/modify the plastic mounting flanges for sensors that have them, such as the Distance Sensor, Optical Sensor, Bumper Switch, etc. For example, a Team could use only one of the Distance Sensor's mounting flanges, while cutting off the other flange to reduce the sensor's footprint and fit it into a smaller space on the Robot.
This change is effective immediately.
