Tentative Event Schedule | January 23, 2027

8:00 AM: Venue Opens

8:30 AM – 9:30 AM: Team Check-In, Registration, and Robot Inspection
Note: All teams must complete inspection by 9:30 AM.

8:45 AM – 9:45 AM: Skills Challenge Fields Open
Note: Teams may begin using the Skills Challenge fields as soon as their robots have successfully passed inspection.

9:45 AM – 10:00 AM: Event Meeting

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Skills Challenge Fields Open
Note: Skills Challenge lines will close at 2:00 PM. Teams already in line at that time will be allowed to complete their runs. Teams are encouraged to complete up to three Driving Skills Matches and three Autonomous Coding Skills Matches during breaks between qualification matches.

10:15 AM – 12:00 PM: Teamwork Challenge Qualification Matches
Note: Each team will be scheduled for six qualification matches throughout the day.

12:00 PM – 12:45 PM: Lunch Break
Pizza will be available, and a concession stand will offer snacks and drinks throughout the day.

12:45 PM – 2:00 PM: Teamwork Challenge Qualification Matches Resume

2:00 PM – 2:15 PM: Final Rankings and Finals Preparation

2:15 PM – 2:45 PM: Teamwork Challenge Finals

2:45 PM – 3:15 PM: Awards Ceremony

We are seeking volunteers to help run the VEX IQ Level Up January Hopkinton Qualifier on Saturday, January 23, 2027, at Hopkinton Middle School.

Volunteer Roles Needed:

• Judges (8)
• Judge Advisor (1)
• Head Referee / Assistant Referee (2)
• Skills Referees (4) – 3 Skills Fields
• Qualification Match Scorekeepers (4)
• Queueing Volunteers (7)
• Concessions Volunteers (3)
• General Volunteers (4–5)

Volunteers should be available from 8:00 AM to approximately 3:15 PM. Training and support will be provided on-site. Specific assignments and additional information will be shared before the event.

We will contact coaches in the event of inclement weather.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: We will refund your registration fee

If a coach/mentor completes registration for the event, then chooses to withdraw or not attend: We will not refund the fee unless we can fill your spot. 

Health and Safety Policies

Please ensure students do not run inside the venue, whether or not they are carrying robots. Students should also use caution when navigating stairs throughout the venue, especially when carrying robots or equipment.

The event is located in Hopkinton Middle School, 88 Hayden Rowe St.

We are in building 40; the entrance is off parking lot 17.

Our pit area is located in the cafiteria, right inside the door off the parking lot; we will have signs.

•  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. The deadline for submission is 11:59 PM January 10, 2027 

• All other judging will follow standard VEX IQ judging guidelines
