Welcome to The Mind Spark Beads and Bots – 2027 VEX IQ Robotics Competition!
Let the good times roll and the robots roll!
The Mind Spark is bringing Mardi Gras excitement to Great Valley Middle School! Get ready for a day of friendly competition, teamwork, creative engineering, and plenty of robotic fun as teams take on the 2026–2027 VIQRC Level Up challenge.
We're excited to join GVMS for a Mardi Gras-themed robotics weekend celebrating STEM, innovation, and student creativity!

Volunteers
We'd love your help making this event a success! Parents, siblings, and friends are welcome to volunteer. No experience needed; we'll provide training!

Concessions
GVMS will have a full snack bar offering pizza by the slice or whole pie, chips, candy, drinks, and more! No outside food is permitted in GVMS.
We encourage teams and families to support the GVMS snack bar throughout the event.
Reminder: Food is not permitted in the library/pit area.
Consent Forms
All participants must have a completed Participant Release Form on file before competing.
Digital Engineering Notebooks
Teams participating in judged awards must upload their Digital Engineering Notebooks through events.vex.com.
Submission Deadline: Feb 1. 2027 by 6pm
Robot Inspection
All robots must pass inspection before participating in Qualification Matches or Robot Skills. Please review the official inspection requirements and Game Manual before arriving.
Team Interviews & Judging
Team interviews will take place in person during the event. Judges will visit teams in their pit areas, so please ensure students are available during the judging period.
We can't wait to see everyone's robots, creativity, and Mardi Gras spirit!

In the event of an emergency or bad weather, every effort will be made to reschedule this event.

Refunds will only be issued if the event is cancelled by The Mind Spark or GVMS (e.g. inclement weather, COVID-19, etc.).
Registration fees are due two week before the event.

Unpaid teams by the due date will be moved to the waitlist.

No refunds for teams that register but choose not to attend.

- Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact.
- Notebook Submission Deadline: 6pm on Feb 1, 2027
