Offizielle Frage&A: VEX IQ Robotics Competition 2026-2027: Level Up
3248: Status of the yellow Bean Bag in Figure RSC3-1 - Preload or Match Load?
Game Manual Version 1.0.
The Field Overview lists six (6) yellow Bean Bags: two Preloads (one for each Team) and four that start in the Field. <SG5> states that "Each Robot gets one yellow Bean Bag as a Preload." Since a Robot Skills Match involves one Robot, we understand a Robot Skills Match Field to contain five (5) yellow Bean Bags in total.
However, Figure RSC3-1 shows the single yellow Bean Bag staged inside the red Driver Station, alongside the eight (8) red and blue Bean Bags described in <RSC3>a.i. The glossary defines a Preload as "a Scoring Object that begins the Match in contact with a Robot," and a Match Load as "a Scoring Object that begins the Match in a Driver Station and which may be introduced by a Loader during the Match." <RSC4>b states that "All Match Loads are Loaded through the red Load Zone in Robot Skills Matches," without restricting Match Loads by color.

In a Robot Skills Match, is the yellow Bean Bag shown in the red Driver Station in Figure RSC3-1 a Preload (placed in contact with the Robot prior to the start of the Match, per <SG5>), or a Match Load (introduced through the red Load Zone during the Match)?
-
If it is a Preload, is Figure RSC3-1 intended only to indicate which Scoring Objects are present in a Robot Skills Match, rather than their pre-Match positions?
Thank you.
RSC3.a.i specifies that four (4) red Bean Bags and four (4) blue Bean Bags begin the Match in the red Driver Station for Loading. In Figure RSC3-1, the yellow Bean Bag shown in the Driver Station is a Preload, not a Match Load.
This is similar to the depiction in Figure SG-1, where the yellow Bean Bags shown in the Driver Stations are Preloads for each Robot, not Match Loads.
