Allgemeine Info
Welcome to The Monroe County Fair: "Jeff Demaray Memorial Tournament" .
This is the eleventh year we have held our season kickoff event at the Monroe County Fair. The memorial is for Jeff Demaray, one of our founding mentors and a champion of early season events, who passed over the summer. The "Fair Event" was one of his favorites, being the first event of the season in the United States at its inception. Did you know that over 80% of the teams attending early season events go on to compete in respective state championships? Teams also move to other championships establishing abilities in head-to-head competitions. Watch this space for updates as they become available. This is the first stop on the way to the 2027 World Championship.
Admission to the fair (for the team members and one mentor/coach) is included with the team registration. Our event ends by 4:00 p.m., and the fair is open 'til 11:00 p.m. More about the fair can be found on their webpage: https://monroecountyfair.com/
Registration Information
All participating teams must be registered with events.vex.com and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the events.vex.com website.

Lunch and Concessions
It's the fair! From chili-cheese fries to cotton candy, corn dogs to elephant ears, there are food vendors of all types. Feel free to bring your own, too, as there are no restrictions on "outside food."
Elimination Matches

Competition Preparation
All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.
Review all game information on the VEX website
Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX V5 parts. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament using the V5 Robot Inspection Checklist
Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.
Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com

Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby, as teams are close to each other in the venue pit area. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks, ask the tournament director for a safe location if grinding is needed.
Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for your V5 Brain.
