8:15 AM – Team Interviews Begin

8:45 AM – Drivers’ Meeting and Opening Remarks

9:00 AM – Qualification Matches and Robot Skills Open

12:00 PM–1:00 PM – Lunch Break

1:00 PM – Qualification Matches and Robot Skills Resume

2:30 PM – Robot Skills Close

2:45 PM – Qualification Matches Conclude

3:00 PM – Finals Alliances Announced

3:15 PM – Finals Matches Begin

4:00 PM – Awards Ceremony

This schedule is tentative and may be adjusted based on the final number of registered teams. Teams will receive their individual match and interview schedules at the event.

Voluntario

The Discovery Academy Tiger Tech Throwdown depends on the support of volunteers to create a fun, organized, and memorable experience for our students.

Volunteer opportunities may include field reset, team check-in, queuing, scoring assistance, concessions, judging, and other event-day support. Robotics experience is not required for many roles, and instructions will be provided.

Parents, school staff, older students, and community members are encouraged to help. By working together, we can celebrate our students’ creativity, teamwork, and hard work while making the inaugural Tiger Tech Throwdown a great event!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

October weather in Florida can be unpredictable, including the possibility of severe storms or tropical weather.

If weather conditions or another emergency require a delay, schedule change, or event cancellation, updates will be posted on the event page and emailed to registered teams. Please check for the latest information before traveling to the venue.

Refund and Payment Policies

Event Cancellation

If the Event Partner cancels the Starstruck Showdown @ Grassy Lake, your team’s registration fee will be refunded in full.

Team Cancellation

Registering reserves a limited spot for your team and commits the Event Partner to event-related expenses. If a coach or mentor withdraws a team or chooses not to attend after registering, the registration fee is non-refundable.

Payment Policy

Registration fees must be paid within two weeks of registering or by the payment deadline listed on events.vex.com, whichever comes first.

Teams that do not submit payment by the deadline may be moved to the waitlist, and their spot may be offered to another team.

Formato de evaluación

• All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
