Overview:
The CCHSA Riot Robotics IQ Middle School: Kairos - Make the Level Tournament provides elementary students an opportunity to showcase their engineering, programming, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Teams will compete in Robot Skills Challenges and Teamwork Matches while demonstrating the iterative design process and STEM learning concepts.
This event is designed to create a positive, educational, and engaging environment where students can:
- Apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) principles.
- Develop teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience friendly competition and gracious professionalism.
- Present their engineering design process through the Engineering Notebook and team interviews.
- Earn qualification opportunities for higher-level championship events.
Expected Attendance:
- Elementary VEX IQ teams from North Carolina and surrounding states.
- Approximately 25 teams.
- Students, coaches, mentors, volunteers, and spectators.

Volunteer Opportunities:
The success of this event depends on dedicated volunteers serving in judging, field operations, queuing, scorekeeping, inspection, registration, and event administration roles.

Important Notes for Participants:
- Teams should arrive with robots fully assembled and ready for inspection.
- Engineering Notebooks should be submitted no later than Dec. 16th, 2026.
- Coaches are responsible for ensuring all participants follow event and venue policies.
- Concessions and event-specific information will be communicated prior to the tournament.

Voluntario
Our event would not be possible without the support of dedicated volunteers. We are looking for many types of volunteers to help make the CCHSA Riot Robotics IQ Middle School: Early Gift event a success. Opportunities include judges, referees, queuing staff, check-in assistants, scorekeepers, field resetters, pit administrators, and general event support roles. Whether you have previous robotics experience or are volunteering for the first time, we have a role that can make a meaningful impact.
Judges Needed: Please note that judges must be completely independent of the participating teams. To ensure a fair and unbiased judging process, individuals serving as judges cannot be associated with, mentor, coach, parent, or otherwise be affiliated with any team competing in this event.
As a thank you for volunteering your time, all volunteers will be provided with lunch, snacks, and refreshments throughout the day.

Formato de evaluación
- All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event.
- Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
