DeKalb Central Schools is excited to welcome you to the DeKalb Central VEX IQ Robotics Competition!
The tournament will be hosted at DeKalb Middle School in Waterloo, Indiana. We look forward to welcoming teams from across the region for a fun and competitive day of robotics.
Competition fields, practice areas, team pits, and spectator seating will be available throughout the event. Skills Challenge fields will also be available throughout the day for teams to complete their skills runs.
Parking & Entrance: Buses, teams, and spectators may park in the south-facing parking lot at DeKalb Middle School and enter through Door 1.
Team Pits: Each team will have its own table in the designated pit area with access to one electrical outlet. Teams should bring their own power strip and any chargers, tools, or other equipment needed throughout the competition.
Concessions: Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the event. Teams and spectators are encouraged to support our concessions during the competition.
Grade Level: Middle School and Elementary School
Skills Challenge Offered: Yes
Registration & Payment: Payment must be received prior to the competition in order for a team to participate. Registration fees may be waived in exchange for providing approved competition volunteers. Teams interested in this option should contact the Event Partner in advance to coordinate volunteer needs and receive approval for the fee waiver.
Additional event-day information and updates will be communicated to registered teams as the competition approaches.

If you would like to volunteer at the DeKalb Central VEX IQ Robotics Competition, or know someone who would be interested in helping, please feel free to reach out. No prior robotics experience is necessary for many volunteer roles, and we are happy to help find a role that is a good fit.
Teams may also have the opportunity to waive their registration fee in exchange for providing competition volunteers. These arrangements must be coordinated and approved with the Event Partner in advance.

Política de emergencia/mal tiempo
In the event of an emergency, severe weather, or other circumstances requiring the competition to be canceled, updates will be posted on events.vex.com and communicated directly to registered team coaches via email.
If the event is canceled by DeKalb Central Schools, registration fees will be refunded to participating teams.
Please monitor the event page and the email address associated with your team registration for the most current information regarding any event changes or cancellations.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: A full refund will be issued.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: No refunds will be issued. Payment should be received no later than four weeks after registration Teams registering within four weeks of the event should pay upon registration. Teams who do not meet the payment deadlines will be moved to the waitlist.
Please contact the Event Partner within 48 hours after registering for the event if this policy poses undo burden on your team. It will be up to the Event Partner to make the final determination of if an extended window is allowed.
Formato de evaluación
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
