Thank you for your interest in the Southeastern Michigan Fall VEX V5 Robotics Competition League!
Leagues are an excellent way for new teams to gain experience in a less stressful environment, while experienced teams can use league sessions to test new strategies and troubleshoot issues with less competitive pressure.
This year’s league will feature four small qualification sessions:

Teams will choose two or more sessions to attend.
League Finals will be on Thursday, November 19, at Notre Dame Preparatory School.
- This session will be eliminations only, no qualification matches and no judging.
- Awards will be given to the Tournament Champions, Tournament Finalists, and Skills Champions
Second Chance Invitational
League teams that attend two or more sessions, and are not yet qualified for the Michigan State Championship will be invited to the Second Chance Invitational on Saturday, December 5, at Kettering University. It is a complete event that is separate from the league sessions event. It will include qualification matches, skills, judging, eliminations, and lots of awards.

Qualification sessions are on weekdays, allowing teams to participate in Saturday competitions as well.

Qualificaiton session capacity: Notre Dame – 20 teams, Cranbrook – 18 teams, Imlay City – 16 teams.

Session assignments begin Monday, Sept. 21. Teams registering after this date may have fewer session choices.

Teams may trade session spots with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Teams can register for more than two sessions if extra space is available.

Not all qualification sessions will include Skills matches.

Agenda for all qualification sessions
- 4:30 PM - Doors open. Please do not arrive before 4:30. The doors may be unlocked, but the facility is not available for the league until 4:30.
- 5 PM - Inspections begin, skills field opens
- 5:30 PM - Opening ceremonies, Drivers meeting
- 5:40 PM - Qualification matches begin. Teams will have four matches at each qualification session, time permitting.
- 8:00 - Qualification matches end. If matches end early, the match field will be used for skills until 8 PM.
Agenda for league eliminations sessions
- 4:30 PM - Doors open. Please do not arrive before 4:30. The doors may be unlocked, but the facility is not available for the league until 4:30.
- 5:00 PM - Inspections begin, skills field opens
- 5:45 PM - Alliance Selection.
- 6:00 PM - Round of 16 Matches
- 8:00 PM - Matches conclude
- 8:15 PM - Awards
Voluntario
Assistance with queueing, refereeing, scorekeeping, field reset, setup, breakdown, and the sharing of field/game elements is always welcomed.

Sessions that are canceled due to bad weather or other one-time disruptions will be rescheduled within the same calendar year.
The entire league will be postponed or reorganized if a state-wide shutdown order is issued due to a health emergency.
