GA TSA Fall Leadership VEX V5 Robotics Competition: Battle on the Beach

Georgia TSA is excited to introduce Battle on the Beach, a new Global Robotics & Science Foundation (GSRF) Spotlight Event at Fall Leadership Conference. Teams will compete in the 2026–2027 V5RC game, Override, on Friday at Jekyll Island. This invitational event will showcase the GATSA and VEX Robotics community and has a 50-team cap.

How to register

1. Register your VEX team for the season. Every competing team must have an active, paid 2026–2027 registration at events.vex.com. The current season registration fee is $200 per team, paid separately through GSRF. Complete any required contact and team requirements before the FLC registration deadline.

2. Enter your first-choice team in MyGATSA. During Fall Leadership Conference registration, add the VEX tournament and enter the exact official team number and letter for the one team your chapter wants considered first. The $50 per robot tournament fee will be added to your conference registration. The $200 season fee does not cover this tournament fee.

3. Request a second team through the separate form. GATSA will release a second-team signup form. Teams submitted through that form will be considered as space permits to fill the 50-team cap. Submitting the form does not confirm a tournament invitation.

4. Watch for your event invitation. The tournament will be listed as an invitational on VEX Events. GATSA and GSRF will match MyGATSA entries to active, paid VEX teams and coordinate invitations. Do not add your team to the VEX Events waitlist at this stage. The team number in MyGATSA must match the team invited to compete; do not substitute another team.

Judging and event details

Engineering Design Notebooks will be submitted digitally through VEX Events ahead of the tournament, with team interviews conducted onsite. The notebook deadline and submission instructions will be posted on the event listing.

The Excellence Award is expected to carry a VEX Robotics World Championship qualification spot, subject to the event meeting GSRF qualification criteria. Final award and qualification details will appear on the official event listing.
