Información general
Robots in 3 Days Create, Build, and Present Your Robot in Just 72 Hours
The Challenge Join us for an exciting hackathon-style robotics competition where your team will have 3 days to design, build, and program a robot to compete in this year's Override game—from concept to finished product.
Teams will work alongside System Overload mentors to rapidly prototype and build a complete robot solution. You'll then present your creation to judges and fellow competitors, explaining your design choices, build process, and why your solution stands out.
What We're Looking For Competition scoring emphasizes the authentic 3-day build experience:
Presentation 60% Showcase your solution, design process, and strategic decisions
Build Quality 15% Craftsmanship and engineering of your completed robot
Design 15% Innovation and elegance in your CAD and mechanical approach
Programming 5% Code functionality and implementation
On-Time Completion 5% Meeting project deadlines
⚠️ Note: Teams arriving with pre-built subsystems or finished CAD will receive reduced points in those categories. We're rewarding the full 3-day experience—not punishing teams; just incentivizing the spirit of the event.
Event Logistics Schedule: 3-day build event with daily venue closing at approximately 6 PM Extended Hours: Take your robot and materials home each night and continue working—just bring everything back the next day On-Site Support: System Overload team members will be available to help troubleshoot challenges Participation Options: In-person attendance is preferred and more fun, but remote participation is available Presentations: All teams present in front of judges and spectators; judging occurs live with deliberation after all presentations
Important Details Trade Secrets: Teams may keep design secrets but risk losing judging points by not fully explaining your approach Preparation: Teams are encouraged to come with nothing built. Ideas created beforehand are allowed, but bringing pre-built systems encourages less points in those categories
