3224: Clarification for SG10 Intent

John Garrett
4-Sep-2026

<SG10> During a practice scrimmage, RED 1 (during the endgame) goes to push BLUE 1 out of the midfield. During the interaction, RED 1 causes BLUE 1 to impact the base of the midfield goal. Neither robot ever contacts any scoring objects, but the force of the impact causes a pin to become descored. As per SG10, it states "Pushing an opponent robot into Scoring Objects stacked on the goal [...]". The rule states being pushed into a scoring object, not the base of the goal. I assume this interaction would be ruled as a violation, but we wanted to get clarification on how this should be ruled.

This would be considered an indirect interaction resulting in the removal of Placed Scoring Objects from a neutral Goal, which would incur an <SG10> Violation. (The list of example interactions is not all-inclusive.)

The red Robot in your example would receive both an <SG10> and a <GG16> Violation for causing the blue Robot to remove Placed Scoring Objects from the neutral Goal.
