This Middle School IQ Tournment is Hosted by Millard North High School's V5 Robotics Team; 5069

We Present: VIQRC Beams & Blocks

Beams to represent the Builds and Blocks to represent the Coding.  

Registration Information:  All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics on events.vex.com website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through events.vex.com

Engineering Notebooks:   We will be collecting Physical engineering notebooks at this event for judging.

Lunch and Concessions:  Full concessions will be available. Lunch specials will be announced.

Finals Matches: The top ten (10) teams from the qualification rounds will participate in Finals for each division. These ten (10) teams will be automatically paired into 5 Alliances. The top scoring alliance in Finals will earn the title Teamwork Champions. 

Participation and Consent Form:  A completed form for all participants must be uploaded to events.vex.com prior to the tournament. Team leaders will need to check that all team members attending the event have completed the online consent form prior to the tournament. Online Consent Form

All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX IQ parts. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament using the IQ Robot Inspection Checklist

  2. Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.

  3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com

  4. Prep for your interviews with the judges and read the Judge's Guide. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.

  5. Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for your IQ Brain.

Get Inspired and Have Fun! Be a part of the excitement by joining a team of volunteers who help in a variety of ways to make this event a success for the students involved.  You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions.

Experience level: No previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions, and you can even bring your kids for a family activity (for example, Field Resetter is an ideal position for young children).

Meals: Lunch is provided for volunteers.

In case of inclement weather, check the Event on Events.vex.com for further updates the night before the event date. Email will be sent to registered coach. In the event of cancellation we will try our best to reschedule.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

If something happens and you are unable to attend the competition, please notify the Jeffrey Brady at [email protected]. Refunds for non-attendance will only be given if the cancellation notice has been received no later than 2 weeks prior to the event date.

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the Check in table before inspection.
