Informacje ogólne

Welcome to the Knight City Friendly - Override, a high-school VEX V5 Robotics Competition event for the 2026–2027 Override season.

This event is designed to give teams a positive, well-organized opportunity to compete, test robots, refine strategy, build driver and alliance experience, and connect with other VEX teams. The tournament will use two Smart Field Control competition fields, a skills field and one practice field.

Each team will receive six qualification matches. Qualification matches will be followed by elimination rounds using two-team alliances.

Important Details:

  1. We are hosting our event this year at a different site than in the past due to construction.  Unfortunately this means that we will not have spectator seating.  There is plenty of room in the facility, just no bleachers.
  2. In order to get done on time we are not stopping for lunch.  Lunch will be available for purchase from our culinary program.  There are also many nearby restaurants.  Please plan to have your team eat when they have time.
  3. This is a No Judging event. Engineering Notebooks will not be collected, reviewed, or judged.
  4. We are currently planning to run a skills challenge but we are in need of an additional field and game elements.  We already have a smart control system for the field.  If you are able to bring yours for skills, please contact the event partner at [email protected].

The Tournament Champion alliance will be recognized at the conclusion of the event. Both teams on the Tournament Champion alliance will advance to the Regional Championship, subject to Global Robotics & Science Foundation eligibility requirements and current-season advancement criteria.

Skills Challenge matches for VURC and VAIRC teams will NOT be offered.

Wolontariusz

We always welcome volunteers to assist with the event.  Please contace steve cline at [email protected] is you want to help.

We also need one competition field with Override game elements to serve as the event’s skills field. We are willing to provide one free team registration to a team that can bring the complete field and game elements and set it up for use as the practice field. If your team is interested, please email Steve to coordinate the equipment and setup details before making plans.

Polityka w sytuacjach awaryjnych/złej pogody

The safety of students, coaches, volunteers, and guests is our priority. Knight City Friendly - Override is scheduled for December 2, 2026, and we plan to hold the event as scheduled unless weather, a facility closure, or another emergency makes it unsafe or impossible to proceed.

If the event is delayed, postponed, or canceled, we will email registered coaches as soon as possible and update the event page. Please make sure the email address associated with your team registration is current, and check your email and the event page before traveling.

If an emergency occurs during the event, please follow the directions of school staff and event volunteers. We may pause matches, move participants to a safer location, or end the event early if conditions require it. Teams should use their own judgment about whether travel to or from the venue is safe.

If the event is canceled or postponed, we will communicate the next steps—including any rescheduled date and refund information—to registered coaches. Refund terms should be stated in the event’s separate Refund and Payment Policies section.

Zasady zwrotów i płatności

Registration is $120 per team. Payment is due by November 30, 2026. A team that has not paid by the payment deadline may be removed from the event so that a team on the waitlist can register.

If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Teams will receive a refund of their event registration fee. Any processing or platform fee that cannot be refunded will be identified when the cancellation is announced. Registered coaches will be notified by email as soon as possible, and the event page will be updated.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Please notify the Event Partner in writing at [email protected] if your team needs to withdraw.

Teams that request withdrawal before November 18, 2026 will receive a refund of their event registration fee, less any nonrefundable processing or platform fee. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals requested on or after November 18, 2026, or for teams that do not attend without withdrawing.

Health and Safety Policies

The health and safety of students, coaches, volunteers, and guests are a priority at Knight City Friendly - Override.

Please do not attend if you are sick or have symptoms that could put others at risk. Coaches should make sure students have appropriate supervision and access to any medications or emergency contact information they may need during the event.

Keep pits, aisles, entrances, and emergency exits clear. Work on robots only in appropriate areas, use tools safely, and follow all instructions from event staff, referees, and facility personnel. Please report any injury or unsafe condition to event staff immediately. We may update these policies before the event if venue requirements or public-health guidance change.

There is no spectator seating at this event. Please share this information with families and supporters before event day.
