Q&A Oficial: VEX IQ Robotics Competition 2026-2027: Level Up

Our Robot is equipped with a mechanism that allows it to hang on / climb onto the top of the Field Perimeter (the outer wall of the Field) and continue operating during a Match, e.g., driving along the wall while not contacting the Floor. See the attached photo, in which the relevant mechanism is highlighted in the red circle.

The Robot remains within the limits of <SG2> (horizontal footprint always within 11" x 24") and <SG3> (vertical expansion is unlimited) while hanging. However, we are unsure whether attaching to / hanging on the Field Perimeter is legal during a Match, given that the Field Perimeter is a Field Element.</sg3></sg2>

1. Does any rule in the Level Up Game Manual prohibit a Robot from hanging on or attaching to the Field Perimeter during a Match?
2. If the hanging mechanism could potentially damage the Field Perimeter, would it be considered a violation of <R13> and/or <S1> / <GG9>?
