Informações Gerais

Event Location

The event will be held at the Grandville Robotics Competition Center located on the west side of Grandville Middle School.  Enter through Door-O.

 VEX IQ teams should use the Grandville Middle School entrance off Canal Ave. 

Additional Parking for VEX IQ team parents and spectators is located on the east side of Grandville Middle School.  Parents and spectators can access the east parking lot by using the Middle School 52nd Street entrance. This entrance is located west of Wilson Ave.    

VEX IQ Fields

The VEX IQ fields used for the TEAMWORK matches will be on a raised platform.

Registration Information

All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and the VEX Events website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the VEX Events website.

Lunch and Concessions

Full concessions will be available from 8:30am am to 2:30pm pm. We offer a lunch pre-order that includes 2 pieces of pizza, snack, a piece of fruit and a drink.  Lunch preorders will be taken until February 4. Link for lunch pre-order will be emialed to coaches.

Finals Matches

Up to 32 teams will be paired up and participate in Finals matches. 

Competition Preparation

Team should bring a printed copy of their Engineering Notebook for the judges. 

All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared:

Review all game information: Current Game Webpage

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX IQ parts. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament using the IQ inspection checklist.
  2. Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.
  3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com
  4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
    • Spare parts & tools
    • Batteries and chargers
    • Power strip and extension cord
    • Laptop computer / Tablet
    • Programming cable
    • Banners and other decorations for your team pit table
  5. Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for your IQ Brain.

Participation and Consent Form

A completed form for all participants must be uploaded to events.vex.com prior to the tournament. Team leaders will need to check that all team members attending the event have completed the online consent form prior to the tournament. Online Consent Form

Team Pits

Teams will be assigned a 6-foot pit table with 2-4 chairs.  Coaches might want to bring bag chairs as we have a limited amount of folding chairs.  Teams will have access to electricity at the charging table.  Bring a power strip to plug in multiple items.

If Grandville Public School is closed on tournament day, we will not hold the tournament.  

We will post the closing on Grandville Robotics Facebook page and coaches will be emailed.  We will also post on Robotevents tournament page.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

A refund check will be mailed to all participants.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

A refund will not be given.
