Important Match Information

Be at your Match on time. A Team's Robot must be in the Driver Station or on the Field for its assigned Match. If the Robot is not at the Field for the entire duration of the Match, the Team will be considered a "no-show" and will receive zero (0) points. The other Team in the Alliance will still play and receive points for the Match.

Robots on the Field must be ready to play. If a Team brings its Robot to the Field, it must be prepared to play. This includes having batteries charged and being ready to meet all required starting conditions.

Robots must be placed on the Field promptly. Teams should not arrive at the Field and then begin assembling, repairing, programming, or preparing their Robot. Repeated delays may result in the Robot being removed from the Match and/or other violations of the Game Manual.

Please arrive at the queuing tables at least 5 minutes before your scheduled Match. We will be running Matches on schedule and may run ahead of schedule when all Teams, Robots, and volunteers are present and ready to play.

This is a championship event. Please make sure all Team members understand that Matches will be run efficiently and Teams should be ready when called!

Relevant Game Manual Rules

  • <GG2> - A Team's Robot should attend every Match. A Robot that is not at the Field for the entire duration of its assigned Match is considered a "no-show," and the Team receives zero (0) points.
  • <GG3> - Robots on the Field must be ready to play. Robots must be prepared to play and must be placed on the Field promptly. Repeated failure to do so may result in a violation of <G1> and/or removal of the Robot from the Match.
  • <SG1> - Starting a Match. Robots must meet all required starting conditions. If a Robot cannot meet those conditions in a timely manner, it may be removed from the Field and may not be permitted to play in the Match.
  • <T8> - Qualification Matches will occur according to the official Match Schedule. A Qualification Match may start before its scheduled time only when all Teams, Robots, and assigned volunteers are at the Field and ready to play.

Please help us keep the tournament running smoothly by being early, being ready, and having fun!

Remote Judging for the North/Central Florida Regional Championships

To ensure a fair and thorough evaluation process, the initial round of judging for this year’s North/Central Florida Regional Championships will be conducted remotely. This approach allows our judges ample time to make well-informed decisions while promoting an equitable experience for all participating teams.

Design Notebooks

Please ensure your Notebook URL is up to date on events.vex.com. Judging for digital notebooks will begin on February 22.  If you register for the tournament after this date, be sure to update your link at the time of registration.

While we will make an effort to contact teams with problematic links, we must also respect our judges’ time and efforts.

Team Interviews

For details on remote team interview requirements, please refer to the official judging guide:

Interview signup information will be emailed directly to the team's contact.

Before your scheduled interview, you will receive a confirmation email with your assigned time and the Zoom link. Please join the meeting 10 minutes before your scheduled time.

  • At least one team coach or mentor must be present for the entire interview.
  • Upon joining Zoom, teams will be placed in a breakout room with the judges once all required participants are present.
  • Missed interviews cannot be rescheduled.
  • Teams may join separately from home or together from a single location, based on their preference.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We look forward to seeing you at the competition!
