Competition Preparation
- Only one coach is allowed in the pit area and must be identified by a nametag, which will be handed out at registration.
- Students must have a participation form on file.
- Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments.
- All team members must be checked in before completing robot inspection.
- Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.
- Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com
- Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
- Robot
- Goggles/Safety Glasses (optional for VEX IQ)
- Spare parts & tools
- Batteries and chargers
- Programming cable
- Power strip
- Laptop computer
- Engineering notebook (if you have one, helpful for Judges, Design and Excellence Awards). Deadline to upload digital copy of engineering notebook is the Wednesday before the event at 6:00 PM.
- Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
- Prep for your interviews with the judges.
- Remember that safety comes first; please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team or others nearby, as the venue is a very tight fit. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.
- Understand how the game will be played. VEX participants are more than welcome to watch the referee training videos before they attend a tournament.
- Read through the Robot troubleshooting guide.

In the event of inclement weather, we will decide at least 24 hours before the event whether to reschedule or cancel. If timelines permit, every effort will be made to reschedule the event. Please see the following policies

If the event is canceled before starting due to inclement weather, a full refund will be offered.

If the event is rescheduled before starting due to inclement weather, team registration will be credited to the rescheduled date. If a team cannot attend the rescheduled date, refunds will be given.

If the event is in progress and must stop due to an emergency, no refunds will be given.

The Event Partner and venue are not liable for any costs incurred by teams due to cancellations, including but not limited to:

Travel

- If the Event Partner cancels the event, refunds will be given to registered teams.
- If the Event Partner reschedules the event, team registration will be credited to the rescheduled date. If a team cannot attend on the rescheduled date, refunds will be given.
- If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend, no refunds will be given for teams if the event is held, regardless of the reason, once the event closes.
- No team swapping will be allowed two weeks prior to the event.
Formato de Julgamento
- All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in person on the day of the event.
- Engineering Notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact.
- The deadline to upload a digital copy of the engineering notebook is the Wednesday before the event at 5:00 PM
