Welcome to the Princeton Rum River Rumble VEX V5RC Middle School Robotics Tournament. We look forward to having you join us for another exciting day! This tournament is the HS VEX V5RC Tournament (we are also hosting a MS only VEX V5RC Tournament).Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the Robot Events website.
Concessions: For your convenience there will be a complete concessions stand located on site for the duration of the tournament.
Waiting List: If this event is full, please feel free to add your team to the Waiting List and then contact the Event Partner (Primary Contact on the General Info tab). The Event Partner will let you know about possible openings for the event. If you are moved from the Waiting List to the Registered Teams List, please be prepared to pay for the event promptly at your events.vex.com account.
Competition Preparation: Review all game information: Current Game Webpage
- Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX V5 parts. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament using the VEX V5 Inspection Checklist - Global Robotics & Science Foundation
- Check the VEX Forum for rule updates and changes.
- Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on VEX Events
- Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
- Goggles/Safety Glasses
- Spare parts & tools
- Batteries and chargers
- Power strip and extension cord
- Laptop computer
- Programming cable
- Engineering notebook (Required for judged awards)
- Banners and other decorations for your team pit table
- Giveaways if you have them
- Review the Awards Offered at Competition Events – Global Robotics & Science Foundation that are being given during the tournament.
- Prep for your interviews with the judges and read the Judges – Global Robotics & Science Foundation. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament. State spots will not be added to the event until November
- Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby, as teams are close to each other in the venue pit area. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks, ask the tournament director for a safe location if grinding is needed.
- Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for your V5 Brain Firmware..
Participation and Consent Form: A completed form for all participants must be uploaded to events.vex.com prior to the tournament. Team leaders will need to check that all team members attending the event have completed the online consent form prior to the tournament. IMPORTANT! If your team will be late, you must call the Event Partner (Primary Contact on the General Info tab). If your team is not checked-in on time, the match schedule will be run without your team and they cannot compete. The match schedule CANNOT be run after the tournament begins.

7:30 am Check-In Open, Pits Open and Inspections Open
8:30 am Check-in Closes – Call the Event Partner if your team will be late!
8:45 am Inspection Closes
9:00 am Opening Ceremony followed by Team Meeting (in the Tiger Gym)
9:30 am Qualification Matches Begin, Skills Field Opens
12:00 pm 30 minute Lunch Break
3:30 pm Qualification Matches End, Skills Field Closes 10 matches prior to end of Qualifications
3:45 pm Alliance Selection – All Teams Present in main competition area
4:00 pm Elimination Matches & Judge’s Awards

In case of bad weather this event may be cancelled. Teams are advised to watch events.vex.com for weather related updates. If the tournament must be cancelled or postponed, the name of the tournament will change to cancelled or postponed. In the event of a cancellation or postponement, teams will be sent additional information via email. In the event of a cancellation, the registration fee will not be refunded.

If a coach withdraws their team from the event no refunds will be given.

The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
