WELCOME TO SCOTT COUNTY! 

The Scott County Robotics Showdown event is open to Middle and High School VEX V5 Robotics teams. 

Thank you for signing up for our event. Please complete your payment one week before the event date. More information will be included in your registration confirmation email.

Participant Release Form:  Participant Releases are Electronic again and need to be submitted by Oct 11th. The link is in the Document Tab.

Inspections:  Coaches, Please help speed up our inspection time in the morning of by checking your students' robots prior to the day of event and update the firmware to the brain.

Team Meeting:  Our Head Referee and his team of scorekeepers are also VEXU competitors.  They are very knowledgeable and experienced, and will follow all Global Robotics guidelines. Please keep the student-centered policy in mind and encourage students to advocate for their teams at the field based on their own knowledge of the rules, being ready to reference the game manual if needed. All coaches and parents should be made aware of the spectator guidelines, and any game questions can be asked/answered during the team meeting. 

Food: No outside food is allowed into the venue. Information about pizza orders will be sent the week prior to the event. Limited concessions will be available.

Digital Engineering Notebooks / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks should be uploaded to the events.vex.com site by 11:59pm on 11/1/2026.

Please Note: All Times are Eastern Standard Time.  The afternoon schedule may be adjusted if Event Qualifying ends earlier.

7:30 am- Doors Open for Volunteers only
8:00 am- Doors open for competing teams and spectators
8:15 am- Inspection Begins and skill runs can begin after inspection
9:00 am- Drivers Meeting
9:30 am- Event Qualifying Begins
11:30 am-12:30 pm- Lunch (tentative upon tournament progress)
4:15 pm - Qualifying Matches End/Robot Skills End
4:30 pm- Alliance Selection
4:45 pm- Eliminations begin
5:45 pm- Awards
6:00 pm- Event ends

Volunteer judges will be needed in the week leading to the event, to remotely judge digital notebooks, and on the day of the event for interviews. Where possible, judges should not be directed affiliated with any team registered to compete at the event.

If the event is canceled due to bad weather, teams will be notified by email. Teams may request a refund. However, please allow 6-8 weeks for processing of refunds.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Funds will be returned to teams, but there may be a 6 to 8 week delay for return of funds. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

  • Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than one week before the competition. Refunds will be sent out from the event to teams who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this sometimes takes 3-6 months.

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply.​

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date. The submission deadline is 11:59pm on 11/1/2026.
