Welcome to Windom Area Schools V5RC Blended Home Tournament.

Welcome to our home tournament! This is a blended Middle School/High School V5RC tournament. All pits and events will be held in The Nest (west entrance door 7).

No roller carts or casters are allowed on the gym floor please be respectful and carry your carts to your pits. No cutting will be allowed in the gym.

Concessions

Concessions will be available. Please support our program. A full list of what will be available will be sent out to the coaches in an email a week prior to the event.

Registration Information

All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and the Robot Events website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. 

Engineering notebooks

We will be collecting physical engineering notebooks at this event for judging. Please turn in your notebook at team check in.

Competiton Preparation

This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. The inspection checklist can be found on the Documents tab.

2. Check the official VEX forums at events.vex.com for rule updates and changes.

3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on events.vex.com

4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
Goggles/Safety Glasses
Spare parts & tools
Batteries and chargers
Programming cable
Power strip
Laptop computer
Engineering notebook (if you have one, helpful for Judges, Design and 
Excellence Awards ). We will be reviewing both hard copy and electronic logbooks
Banners and other decorations for your team pit
Giveaways if you have them

5. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament Awards Offered at Competition Events – Global Robotics & Science Foundation 

6. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.  Judges – Global Robotics & Science Foundation.

7. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby as the venue is a very tight fit. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.  

8. Ensure your robot brain has the latest version of firmware.

NOTES: 
- Alliances will be 2 teams.

Number of elimination alliances (16-23 teams = 8 alliances in finals, 24-31 teams =12 alliances in finals, 32+ teams = 16 alliances in finals)

- If an odd number of teams, the last-ranked team should still attend Alliance Selection in case a team withdraws due to a problem with their robot.
- All finals matches will be one-and-done (no best-of-three matches). 
- Ties in finals matches will be replayed until a winner is determined.

Participation and Consent Form

IMPORTANT! If your team will be late, you must call the Event Partner (Primary Contact on the General Info tab). If your team is not checked-in on time, the match schedule will be run without your team and they cannot compete. The match schedule CANNOT be run after the tournament begins.

Team Judging will be held in the Pits. Please make yourselves available to the Judges when they show up at your Pit table. If you have a match upcoming shortly, respectfully inform the Judges and agree on a time when you will meet with them at your Pit table.

7:30 am – Doors open, Registration, Pits Open
8:00 am – Inspection Opens
8:30 am – Practice Field Open, Skills open on Skills Field & Match Fields as available
                    Inspected Robots Only!
                    Skills are first come, first served, maximum 3 Driver & 3 Programming skills runs
9:00 am – Check-in & Inspection Closes – Call the Event Partner if your team will be late!
9:15 am – Opening Ceremony & Team Meeting 
9:30 am – Qualification Matches Begin, Skills Field Opens
2:30 pm  – Qualification Matches End, Skills Field Closes
2:45 – Finals Matches Begin 
4:00 pm – Final Awards & Event Closing

We will make every effort not to cancel for weather. We ask all who plan to travel to use their best judgement if conditions seem hazardous or threatening.

If the event is cancelled then "Cancelled" will appear in the title of the event on events.vex.com .

Políticas de reembolso e pagamento

If a team cancels, a refund will be given if another team can fulfill their spot in the tournament. Teams that cancel with extenuating circumstances will be refunded on a case by case basis.

We will offer a refund if the event is cancelled for any reason

Formato de Julgamento

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit it when they check in.
