Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

We are always looking for and welcoming volunteers.  Contact the event coordinator.  Most roles are easily trained in 10 mins or less.   Shifts will be broken up into morning and afternoon shifts.  Most shifts will be 4 hours (8a-12p,  1p-5p, etc).  Please show up 30 mins before your shift starts.

If you know sign language, that is a big help, but not necessary!!!

Health and Safety Policies

Use common sense.

Follow the Code of Conduct at all times, even if not in the tournament. We are using a public property and your behaviors will be observed.  Any damages determined to be done by you will result in you being responsible for paying its repairs or replacement.  Additionally, your team will be removed from the Event itself for a serious breach of the Code of Conduct.

First aid kits will be available at the registration desk.  There is also an ER across the street from the competition/hotel area - see map.  We will be able to help drive you over there if necessary.

Whose Responsibility?

You are responsible for getting here (whether you fly or drive).

Driving

If you drive, there is parking available and will be free of charge.

Flying

If you fly, fly into Colorado Springs airport (COS) on April 27, 2025.

As soon as you know your flight arrival time in COS, please let us know.  We are currently working on transportation options from the airport to Great Wolf Lodge - this is approximately a 25-30 min drive.  Check back here for more details.  You are welcome to fly into Denver airport.  However, we will be unable to pick you up.  It is about 1 hour drive.

When you fly out of COS on April 30, please schedule your flight to be 10:00am or later.

Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.
