Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

• 12:00 PM: Opening Ceremonies
• 2:00 PM: Quals/Skills Open

Day 2:  MS IQ February 27

• 7:00 AM: Volunteers arrive

• 8:00 AM: Quals/Skills Open
• 11:30 AM: Quals/Skills Close & Lunch
• 1:00 PM: IQ Finals & Closing Ceremony
• 6:00 PM: Venue Closes

Overview of Volunteer Roles

In the event of an emergency or bad weather, the event may be cancelled. 

In any event, teams will be contacted as soon as possible with the information. The event partner will contact teams if the event must be postponed. Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers. 

Please check your email the day before and the morning of the tournament (before leaving). 

Refund and Payment Policies

There will be no refunds unless the entire tournament is cancelled. 

If the Event Partner cancels the event:  

Team contacts will be notified about how to receive a refund 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

Teams must complete payment before due date, if payment is completed and a team cannot make it no refund will be given.  

**If you have to cancel last minute please let us know in case we need to adjust the rosters or schedule.

•  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Notebooks are due for the 2026 Louisiana Middle School VEX IQ Robotics Championship on February 25th, 2026.
