General Info
Welcome to the Hawley Blended V5RC HS/MS Tournament! This event is a Qualifier for the State Championship! Please check the Awards tab for information on which awards will qualify teams for State Championship.
Registration Information
All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and the Robot Events website. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the Robot Events website.
Engineering notebooks
We will be collecting Physical engineering notebooks at this event for judging.
Lunch and Concessions
Concessions will be available from 10 am to 2 pm. We will build in a 30 minute lunch break into the schedule please feel free to bring food and beverage into the gym if you wish. We have a Dairy Queen and Subway intown for some local food options as well.
Competition Preparation
All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.
Review all game information:

Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX V5 parts. Please self inspect before arriving at the tournament using the V5 Robot Inspection Checklist

Prep for your interviews with the judges and read theJudge's Guide. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.

Remember that safety comes first, please be aware of tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby, as teams are close to each other in the venue pit area. Also, Please refrain from grinding metal that creates sparks and debree. Ask the tournament host to use saw in their classroom if cutting is needed.

Ensure that you have the latest version of programming software and firmware for yourV5 Brain.
Participation and Consent Form
A completed form for all participants must be uploaded to robotevents.com prior to the tournament. Team leaders will need to check that all team members attending the event have completed the online consent form prior to the tournament.

Volunteer
This event is fully volunteer-run. SIGN-UP link will be added at a later date.
We ask that each team provide one adult volunteer for the event as the team is able. No experience is required for many volunteer positions. Some volunteer positions can be split between two adults for a morning & afternoon shift. Or you can volunteer for a whole day depending on the volunteer role. Lunch is provided for all-day volunteers.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If our school district closes activities due to weather, this event may be postponed, rescheduled, or canceled. Please check the General Info tab on the event website; updates will be posted as they become available. The safety of teams, coaches, parents, and volunteers always comes first. If the weather looks threatening, adults should exercise their own judgment when deciding to travel or allowing their children to travel. If the event is canceled due to weather, our district will refund your school your entry fee minus the processing fee ($5) from robot events.
Refund and Payment Policies
Teams that wish to withdraw before the tournament will receive no refund unless another team from the Waiting List can fill the team’s spot. If a team withdraws before the tournament due to extenuating circumstances, the Event Partner will consider whether a refund is appropriate. Refunds in this instance will be rare.
If the event must be canceled we will do our best to reschedule the event. If the event is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, refunds will be issued from our district. We will not be able to refund the $5 fee that robotevents receives per registered team (if the event costs $105/team, you will receive a $100.00 refund).
Judging Format
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges
