General Info

*You must put your teams on the waitlist and then email EP to be registered.  Please read qualifications below.

Welcome to the first session of Damien's Beginners Bash tournaments.

The goal of these events are to give new(er) students a chance to get some competitions under their belt in a low(er) stress environment.  We are asking that we only have teams that have new students with only 1 year of experience or less.  If any of the students on the team won tournaments or awards last season, this is not the event for them.  This event is focused on learning and giving a chance to students who do not have a lot of experience competing.  Please place your team on the waitlist and then send me an email with information about your team and student's experience levels.  After confirming that they match our requirements, I will place the team in the event.  If you have questions, feel free to reach out.

Competition Preparation:

1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Please make sure to keep in mind at all times.

2. Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.

3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com

4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
Goggles/Safety Glasses
Spare parts & tools
Batteries and chargers
Programming cable
Power strip (power will be provided at table but you may need more outlets)
Laptop computer

5. Be sure to read 101 Things You Should Know Before Your First VEX Tournament. Found in the RECF library.

6. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby as the venue is a very tight fit. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.

7. Understand how the game will be played. VEX participants are more than welcome to watch the referee training videos before they attend a tournament. The referee training videos can be found at vexrobotics.com

8. Read through the Robot troubleshooting guide.
