General Info
With one week to go before Mecha Mayhem why not test out the final changes at Westwoods Trojan Takeover tournament hosted in Fort McMurray!
The Main Competition will take place in the large gymnasium at Westwood Community High School with team pits being located in the attrium entering the gym " The Streets".
Practice fields will be set up in our Multipurpose room directly next to the pits.
Lunch is provided for all student participants, coaches, and volunteers. Coaches, please contact Jeff Landry, [email protected], at least one week prior to the event with any dietary restrictions your teams have. The school Cafeteria will remain open throughout the competiton as well.
Spectators are welcome to attend. Seating will be on the gymnasium bleachers.
Competition Preparation:
This event is sure to be an exciting one! All teams should come prepared for the competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared:
1. Review the rules, the code of conduct, and run through the inspection checklist.
2. Check the VEX Forum and the Q&A for official rule updates and changes.
3. Carefully read all of the information contained in this tournament posting
4. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
5. Prepare for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
6. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware.
7. Bring your own power expander.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If the event has to be cancelled due to weather, registrants will be notified and funds will be reimbursed. Please make sure your contact information is current in Robot Events.
In case of an emergency while on site all safety protocols will be adhered to.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Fees will be refunded.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Fees will not be refunded.

Judging Format
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should make sure they have a Digital Copy of their notebook posted to RobotEvents on or before Jan 28th as this is the date the fiiles will be downloaded. Teams will be given a set time to meet with Judges during the course of the day and are required to attend if they wish to qulaify for any judged awards.
