General Info

The VEX V5 Robotics Competition High School State Championship is a two day event at the Fresta Vally Christian School in Marshal, VA. Teams must qualify for the tournament by participating in a regional event by Febuary 28, 2025.  Teams qualify by winning awards at a local tournament or by invitation based on the highest skills scores posted in Virginia during the season.

We are always in search of volunteers, who enable us to put on these turnaments and have a great experince for our compeating teams.

7:45 AM - Inspection Opens / Practice fields open for inspected teams

8:30 AM - Skills Open for inspected teams

9:25 AM - Opening Ceremony followed by drivers meeting. (Skills + Practice fields closed)

10:00 AM - Practice Matches start (Skills + Practice fields open)

11:00 AM - Qualification Matches start

12:00 PM  - Lunch (Skills closed)

1:00 PM - Qualification Matches resume (practice fields reopen)

5:15 PM - Last Qualification Match,Skills closed

5:30 PM - Pits closed

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

We will update any cancellations on the RobotEvents page and via email. In the event of bad weather we will attempt to modify the event to fit within this weekend.  In the event of a complete cancellation details will be emailed to teams on how to proceed.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

We will issue partial refunds to teams who cannot attend the alternate date.

 

All teams will have to submit payment or have made arrangements by end of day March 11, 2026  If not paid for by that date, your team may be moved to the wait list and might not be able to compete.  Please contact us in case you are having an issue with payment.

We will be the only event at this school during the weekend. Please park in any open spot. 

Teams arriving by bus that need a bus sized parking spot. Please let the event partner know ahead of time so that we can reserve you a bus parking spot.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
