General Info
Welcome to the 1st annual 2026 ARMY JROTC 5TH BRIGADE VEX V5 CHAMPIONSHIP hosted by Plano JROTC battallions! Congratulations to all the teams that qualified. We are excited to see what designs and engineering concepts everyone has come up with and expect a full day of action!
This is an by invitation only event. Teams from 5th Brigade (Texas, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Arkansans) will receive an invitation based on the teams Skills Rankings.
**5th BDE will cover meals & lodging if funds are available. Please contact your BDE representative for information regarding travel**
Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the Event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted electronically for evaluation, with a submission deadline of 2/9/2026 by 11:59pm.
All participants are expected to complete the participant release form. (also available in Spanish)

9:00 am – Drivers Meetings, Inspection/Check-in Closes
9:30am - 12:00pm – Qualification Matches Begin
12pm to 1pm – Lunch Break
1:00pm to 3:30pm – Qualification Matches Continue
3:45pm – Alliance Selection
4:00 pm to 4:30pm - Elimination Matches
4:45 pm - Awards Ceremony
There will be two dedicated skills fields that will be open all day once the drivers meeting has been completed. Once a team has checked in and passed inspection they will able to complete their skills runs. The skills fields will close at the end of the last qualification matches. We highly encourage teams to plan to complete skills matches early on, as lines can get busy.

Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event: Refund minus fees to REC.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: No refunds will be given due to the cost of hosting an event.
Judging Format
Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply.
- Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline of February 9 at 11:59pm is set.
