General Info

Welcome to all to the La Nube STEAM Discovery Center located at 201 W. Main, El Paso, TX 79901!  We are thrilled to be hosting our fist V5RC La Nube Push Back Challenge robotics tournament in conjuction with the El Paso ISD Career and Technical Education.  Please see below for information pertaining to the tournament:

This tournament will be hosted tentatively from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on 1/28 which is a Wednesday.  Additional updates will be sent out by email as soon as the agenda is finalized.  Part of this tournament will involve the students having access to the Museum once the event has concluded.  Additional information regarding this will be sent out once it is finalized as well.

We will have in-person judging available for this tournament with digital engineering notebook submissions.  Please let us know if you are having trouble submitting your engineering jounal through the on-line platform.

This tournament will be streaming and the link will be available on the Webcast tab in this page.  We will give you additional information as well if this tournament will be open to parents or not.  

Items to consider:

  • Ensure to have all your student participation forms submitted
  • Arrive on time so that we can keep up with scheduled times and be able to leave on time
  • Ensure that your robots fit sizing specifications to so that we can expedite the inspection process
  • Adhere to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct 
  • Push collaboration with your peers and remember to have fun!

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the unlikely event that an emergency/weather would force the event to be cancelled, all listed team coaches will be notified by provided email and phone as early as possible. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be given.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

In the event that you need to cancel, please make sure to notify [email protected] and [email protected].  In order to receive a refund, you must cancel 1 week before the day of the tournament so that teams in the waitlist have sufficient time to make arrangments.  If you registered and did not show, you will not receive a refund.

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply. Please see the Remote Judging section of the Guide to Judging for more information.

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
