General Info
VEX Regional Championship Panama 2024-2025 | Innovatosphere
The VEX Regional Championship Panama 2024-2025 is an educational robotics competition dedicated to the VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC). This exciting event will take place on February 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at the International School of Panama, and will gather teams from across the country to showcase their skills in engineering, programming, and strategic gameplay. The competition aims to inspire and empower students to excel in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through hands-on learning and collaboration.
Event Objectives:
-
Promote STEM Education:
Engage students in STEM fields by challenging them to design, build, and program advanced robots in a dynamic and competitive environment. -
Develop Advanced Technical Skills:
Equip students with real-world experience in robotics and programming, allowing them to refine their technical abilities and explore creative solutions to engineering challenges. -
Encourage Strategic Thinking and Collaboration:
Foster teamwork and strategic decision-making by encouraging students to work collaboratively with alliance partners under competition conditions.
Game Overview:
In the VEX V5 Robotics Competition (V5RC), teams will compete on a 12’ x 12’ field, where two alliances—“red” and “blue”—each composed of two teams, will face off in high-stakes matches. Each match consists of two phases:
- Autonomous Period (15 seconds):
Robots execute pre-programmed actions without human intervention. - Driver-Controlled Period (1 minute and 45 seconds):
Teams control their robots to complete the game-specific tasks and earn points.
The primary objective is to score as many points as possible by completing game-specific tasks, such as:
- Manipulating and scoring game elements (e.g., rings, cubes, or balls based on the year’s challenge).
- Positioning mobile goals strategically on the field.
- Executing endgame tasks for bonus points.

Team Registration:
Each organization may register as many teams as they wish; however, any teams beyond the first five (5) will be placed on a waitlist. Waitlisted teams may be added to the competition roster depending on space availability after registration closes. -
Venue and Schedule:
- Location: International School of Panama, Panama City.
- Date and Time: February 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
-
Awards and Recognition:
Teams will have the chance to compete for awards in categories such as technical excellence, innovative design, and teamwork. Winners of the Excellence Award will earn the opportunity to represent Panama at the prestigious VEX Worlds Championship, competing against top teams from around the globe.
