General Info

Reboot Robotics Potato Mashup – VEX V5

Reboot Robotics is excited to host the inaugural Reboot Robotics Potato Mashup, a VEX V5 Robotics Competition tournament at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. The event will be held in the Jane and Ken Meyer Wellness and Sports Center.

We are excited to welcome teams to our first hosted tournament and look forward to bringing the robotics community together for a day of competition, collaboration, and fun. We hope the Potato Mashup will become an annual event that teams look forward to attending each season.

Lunch Information: Teams will have several lunch options during the tournament:

  • SBU Dining Facility: Teams may purchase an all-you-can-eat meal for $15 per person for the SBU Dining Facility, located a short walk from the tournament facility. SBU offers three entrée stations, including Simply 3, which features dishes made without gluten, dairy or nuts to cover the majority of common allergen concerns. A full salad bar and a nice selection of desserts are also available.

    • Teams wishing to purchase SBU meal vouchers must provide a final headcount and commitment by January 11th. Meal vouchers will be ready when teams arrive, and payment will be collected during check-in by cash or check. Checks should be made payable to Reboot Robotics.
  • Local Restaurants: A number of local restaurants and other food options are available within a short distance of the tournament location.
  • Concession Stand: The concession stand inside the tournament facility will open at (time will be added closer to event date), with typical concession items available for purchase, including hot dogs, snacks, and drinks.

Volunteer

As a small nonprofit hosting our inaugural tournament, Reboot Robotics relies on the support of our robotics community to make this event possible. We appreciate the teams and organizations that help us create a great experience for everyone participating!

Volunteer Support
We would greatly appreciate at least one adult volunteer from each participating organization to help as a Judge, Scorekeeper, or in another event volunteer role.

Field & Game Element Support
We are also working with limited storage space and equipment. If your team has a complete field with game elementsthat we could borrow for the day, we would greatly appreciate you bringing it with you to the tournament.

If you are able to help with either volunteers or equipment, please let us know when registering your team or reach out to us directly. Every volunteer, field, and game element helps us make this event possible!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The safety of our teams, volunteers, and guests is our top priority. In the event of severe weather or an emergency that makes the event unsafe, Reboot Robotics will cancel the event and notify registered teams as soon as possible. If possible, we will work with Southwest Baptist University to determine whether the event can be rescheduled.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Registered teams will receive a full refund of their event registration fee.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Event registration fees are nonrefundable for teams that withdraw or do not attend the event. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances.
