    The Iraq National VEX IQ Robotics Competition, organized by Cedars International Schools, is an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their robotics skills, creativity, and teamwork. This event is part of the global VEX IQ Robotics Competition, promoting STEM education and innovation.

  2. Eligibility:
    Open to all VEX IQ teams in Iraq. Teams must be registered through the official RECF - RobotEvents system.

  3. Competition Format:

    • Teams will participate in teamwork matches, driving skills challenges, and autonomous coding skills challenges.
    • Awards will be given for outstanding achievements, including the Excellence Award, Teamwork Champions, and more.
  4. Event Schedule:
    A detailed agenda will be provided closer to the event date. Key activities include team check-in, robot inspection, practice matches, and the main competition rounds.

  5. Preparation Tips:

    • Review the official VEX IQ Robotics Competition Game Manual to ensure your robot complies with all rules.
    • Practice teamwork and skills matches to prepare for the event.
    • Bring extra batteries, chargers, and backup materials to stay prepared for any issues.

Volunteer Information for Iraq National Robotics Competition

Why Volunteer?
Volunteers are essential to the success of the Iraq National Robotics Competition! By volunteering, you’ll play a key role in supporting students as they showcase their robotics skills and teamwork.

Available Volunteer Roles:

  1. Referee/Judge:

    • Monitor matches, enforce rules, and ensure fair play.
    • Evaluate teams for awards based on their performance and documentation.
  2. Field Reset:

    • Reset the competition fields after each match to ensure the event runs smoothly and on time.
  3. Scorekeeper:

    • Record and input match scores into the system.
  4. Registration Desk:

    • Assist teams with check-in and distribute materials such as schedules and badges.
  5. Queue Manager:

    • Help organize teams and ensure they are ready for their matches.
  6. Technical Support:

    • Provide assistance with robot setup and troubleshooting.
  7. General Event Support:

    • Help with logistics, directing participants, and answering questions.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The safety and well-being of all participants, volunteers, and attendees at the Iraq National Robotics Competition are our top priorities. In the event of an emergency or severe weather conditions, the following policies will be in effect:

  1. Event Postponement or Cancellation:

    • If severe weather or an emergency occurs, we will notify all registered teams, volunteers, and attendees via email and phone as soon as possible.
    • Updates will also be posted on the event’s website and social media platforms.
  2. Rescheduling:

    • In the case of cancellation, the event will be rescheduled to a later date if possible. All registered teams will retain their registration status for the rescheduled event.
  3. Venue Safety:

    • Cedars International School, Erbil, has emergency procedures in place. In case of an evacuation or other emergency, follow the instructions of event staff and school personnel.
    • Emergency exits and safety protocols will be highlighted during the opening ceremony.
  4. Refund Policy:

    • If the event is canceled and cannot be rescheduled, a refund of registration fees will be provided upon request.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner Cancels the Event:

  • If the event is canceled by the Event Partner due to unforeseen circumstances, all teams will receive a full refund of their registration fees.
  • If the event is postponed to a later date, registration fees will be applied to the rescheduled event. Teams unable to attend the rescheduled event may request a full refund.

If a Coach/Mentor Completes Registration for the Event Then Chooses to Withdraw or Not Attend:

  • 14 Days or More Before the Event: Teams withdrawing their registration at least 14 days before the event will receive a full refund of their registration fee.
  • 7-13 Days Before the Event: Teams withdrawing between 7 and 13 days before the event will receive a 50% refund of their registration fee.
  • Less Than 7 Days Before the Event: Teams withdrawing less than 7 days before the event or failing to attend will not be eligible for a refund.

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
