Welcome to the Soaring Heights Mix and Match Tournament! We look forward to hosting you!

Tournament Reminders

  • VEX Robotics Tournaments are student centered events. Students are the ones designing, building, programming, and troubleshooting their robots.
  • Each robot needs 2 license plates. 
  • Each team should know the Inspection Checklist. 
  • We recommend sudents bring a water bottle and snacks since its a long day. 

Important Information about Notebooks and Interviews:

  • Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.

  • Submission Deadline for Notebooks will be Wednesday Jan. 7th at 5pm.

    • Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.

Agenda  (latest change on Jan.6th)

  • 8:00 Doors Open: The front doors of the school will open for teams at 8:00 am. 

    • Volunteers may arrive at 7:45am if they signed up for the morning shift

  • 8:00-8:45 Team Check-In & Inspection: 

    • Team check in - make sure most of your team has arrived before checking in.

    • Go straight to Robot Inspection immediately after you check-in 

  • 8:45am   Quick team meeting about the schedule 

  • 8:55 - 10:45 am Judging and Skills

    • We will have skills match running and teams will be assigned a judging time during this time. 

  • 10:50-11:05 Opening Remarks and Drivers Meeting

  • 11:05-12:00 Qualification Matches and 1 skills field will be open

  • 12:00-12:30 Lunch: Qualification matches will be paused at 12:00 for teams and volunteers to have lunch. 

  • 12:30-2:30 pm Qualification Matches Continued

  • 2:30-3:00pm Finals Matches

  • 3:00 pm Awards

Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers for our tournament. These volunteers help make sure the tournaments run smoothly.  

Jobs we are looking for:

  • Judges

  • Check In Table

  • Robot Inspection - will be trained onsite 

  • Queuing Manager

  • Pit Manager

  • Field Reset (3rd Grade and up!)

 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of INCLEMENT WEATHER (as determined by SVVSD) the tournament will be canceled and no refunds will be available.

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment Deadline:

  • Payments for this tournament are due the Tuesday prior to the event @ 4:00 PM MST


If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • Refunds will be available up to two weeks prior to the event, minus the $5.00 non-refundable RobotEvents fee. If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Judging Format

  • Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
     

  • Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.
