General Tournament Information

The Santa Maria-Bonita School District is excited to host two tournaments simultaneously to maximize competition opportunities for all students!

  • Tournament Structure: The event will host two distinct tournaments running concurrently: one for the Middle School Category and one for the Elementary School Category.

  • Match Fields: We will feature 6 fields dedicated to the Mix & Match Alliance Matches throughout the day. 3 for Middle School and 3 for Elementary School.

  • Skills Challenge: There will be 2 dedicated Skills Fields—one specifically for the Middle School Category and one specifically for the Elementary School Category—allowing teams to maximize their official Skills Runs.

  • Pit Area & Practice: A large designated Pit Area will be available for teams to work on their robots. Additionally, 2 dedicated Practice Fields will be open throughout the day for last-minute testing and tuning.

  • Amenities: Vendors will be available on-site for the purchase of food and snacks.

Judging Format: Digital Notebooks are due by 1/20 at 5:00 pm. In-Person Interviews.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Only in extreme circumstances will this event be canceled due to weather safety precautions issued by the Santa Maria-Bonita School District. In this circumstance, refunds will be made available minus any potential costs charged by the RobotEvents.com website.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event, refunds will be issued minus the cost to robot events.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Refunds will be made available up to two weeks prior to the event (12/12/2025), minus any potential costs charged by the RobotEvents.com website. Refunds will not be given if the coach/mentor chooses to withdraw within the two week window.

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In-Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact.

Digital Engineering Notebook Submission Deadline: January 20, 2025 by 5:00 pm. 

Directions: 

  • On "My Account" of RobotEvents.com you will see "Registered Teams" on the Home Page
  • Each team has an editable Digital Engineering Notebook Link 
  • Complete each prompt for each team on the Digital Engineering Notebook Link
    • For each event the team is registered for this season, the Event Partner and Judge Advisor will have access to the team's Digital Engineering Notebook link. Ensure the link is "open" and does not require a password or access rights.
    • The Digital Engineering Notebook must be accessible as a single link. That is, the entire notebook should be accessible by a single click on the single link provided. Multiple links for "volumes" of a single notebook are not acceptable.
    • Please complete the Innovate Award Section for each team, this event WILL have the Innovate Award.
