Welcome to Abu Dhabi VEX IQ Robotics Competition Mix & Match!

The Abu Dhabi VEX IQ Robotics Competition 2025 – 2026, American Community School, will be held on Sunday, January 25th, 2026.  Participants this year will design robots for the Mix & Match Game; details can be found here:  https://www.vexrobotics.com/iq/competition/viqc-current-game

This event is open to the UAE VEX IQ Robotics Competition teams, registered for the 2025 – 2026 season who have been supported by thr Northrop Grumman Foundation. If you are not one of these teams then you may be removed from the event.

 

PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ACCESS ON THE DAY

The American Community school is located on Saadiyat Island near NYU Abu Dhabi.  Visitors can enter at Gate 1 and will be required to leave ID in exchange for a visitor’s badge.  Parking is available in the lot accessible via Gate 1.

FOOD IS NOT PROVIDED, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY AND BRING FOOD WITH THE TEAM.

 

Skills Challenges will be available to all teams, with 3 Max Driver and 3 Max Programming attempts per team

Competition Preparation

This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event! All teams should come prepared for the competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are ready:

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition, as there is ample time for adjustments.  The inspection checklist can be found here.
  2. Check the official Game Manual for rule updates and changes here
  3. Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes here.
  4. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com
  5. Pack for the event the day before your departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.
    1. Spare parts & tools
    2. Batteries and chargers
    3. Programming cable
    4. Power strip
    5. Laptop computer
    6. Engineering notebook.
  6. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards being given during the tournament.

Remember that safety comes first; please only bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team or others nearby, as the venue is a very tight fit.Replace this text with the information you would like on the event's General Info tab.

Volunteer

The Abu Dhabi VEX IQ Robotics Competition, American Community School, is a fully volunteer-run event. The United Arab Emirates is well-known for its strong volunteering culture; everyone is welcome to help make this a unique experience for all participants and attendees.

Experience is optional for many volunteering positions. Some positions can be split between two adults for a morning and afternoon shift. Depending on the role, you can volunteer for a whole day.
