We’re thrilled to announce another edition of the STEM for Us by Us Conference and VEX Robotics Competition 2025 Edition. Driven by a commitment to create lasting impact within Sierra Leone's tech ecosystem, this conference and Robotics competition has, over the years, brought together and empowered more than 1,000 participants, 10+ schools, 30+ speakers, and partnered with 10+ organizations. At its core, the STEM for Us by Us conference is all about sharing knowledge and experiences in STEM, inspiring a growing community of curious and ambitious tech enthusiasts to reach new heights.

Welcome Address by the Host.
Keynote Speech: "The Role of Robotics and STEM in Shaping Tomorrow"
Delivered by a prominent STEM leader or robotics expert.


9:00 AM - 10:30 AM: VEX Robotics Competition - First Rounds
Teams compete in matches.
Judges observe teamwork, problem-solving, and design processes.


10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Break and Networking Session
Light snacks provided.
Attendees connect with STEM enthusiasts and professionals.
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: STEM Workshops
Workshop A: Introduction to Coding and Robotics
Workshop B: The Power of AI in Everyday Life
Workshop C: Sustainable Engineering: Building for the Future
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch Break
Catered lunch for all attendees.
Booths showcasing STEM projects, robotics kits, and sponsors’ products.
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM: VEX Robotics Competition - Qualifying Rounds
Top teams compete in the qualifying round.
Live commentary to engage the audience.
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Panel Discussion
Topic: "Breaking Barriers: Women and Youth in STEM Leadership"

Panelists include STEM professionals, educators, and students.
3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: STEM Exhibition and Interactive Sessions and Final Rounds
Hands-on demos of cutting-edge technology (e.g., drones, 3D printing, VR).

Awards for top-performing teams in the VEX Robotics Competition.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

There is no bad weather since this event is happening during the dry season. Also to note that we will be having the competiton in doors

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: we will refund the full amount of registration fee and other expenses

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: If the coach or mentor withdraws before the 10th of Febuary, we will refund the full amount of registration fee and other expenses. If the coach withdraws after the 10th, we will unfortunately be unable to refund the registration fee.

 

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply.

  • Judging 
  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
