General Info

Welcome to the 2026 Onizuka Day of Exploration VEX IQ Invitational Scrimmage!

This scrimmage will coincide along with the Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Councilʻs Onizuka Day of Exploration event onizukaday.com

If your teams would like to participate, please add your team(s) to the Waitlist and email Adria Fung at [email protected].

As of 3/12, the event is open to teams not qualified to the 2026 VEX World Championships.

This event will NOT qualify teams to further events. This event is an invitational scrimmage. Priority will be given to teams that meet the following criteria in order:

  1. Registered in 1 event this season 
  2. Not registered for the 2026 Hawaii Regional Championships 
  3. Registered in 2 events this season 
  4. Registered in 3 events this season
  • No skills challenge

  • No Engineering Notebooks 

We will be offering many fun and space exploration-themed awards! Unofficial RECF awards will be awarded to teams based on interviews, observations, and matchplay. 

Reminders

  1. Please supervise all team members; we are guests of UH West Oahu.  Teams are restricted to the Event area. 
  2. No food or drinks inside the venue. Capped water bottles are ok. 
  3. There should be no running in the pit or tournament areas.  Please be careful about creating tripping hazards with packing crates
  4. Please keep the pit area clean.
  5. Charging tables will be available; bring your own power strip and extension cord.
  6. Please do not bring your own game set and/or field unless you were requested/confirmed to do so.  

Food 

Food (lunch meals, snacks and drinks) will be available for purchase, either from the Da Spot dining hall in the centrally located Campus Center, or other food sources (i.e., lunch wagons, vendors TBD) located nearby.  It is recommended that you bring your own water bottles, which can be filled at various water-filling stations.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Invitational Scrimmage will be cancelled in the event the Onizuka Day of Exploration organizers cancel the entire ODE event. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be given minus the $5 RECF processing fee. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will not be given due to fixed event costs.
