498: Discrepancy Between Tournament Manager and Rules in Scoring Multiple DQ's

I am an Event Partner and based on my communication with my Regional Support Manager and from the EP Forum, there appears to be a nuance in the rules that has not been adequately communicated to EPs and Teams. I am reposting the issue here so the entire community can get an official clarification...

According to the Game Manual, under “Tournament Definitions” Note 1: “If the Team receiving the Disqualification is on the winning Alliance, then Teams on the opposing Alliance who are not also Disqualified will receive two (2) WP.”

One of our qualification matches this past weekend had one team each from Red and Blue DQ’d. At the end of the match, Red finished with more points than Blue. The non-DQ’d Blue team entered the match with a 4-0 record and 8 WP. After the match was completed, scored (with appropriate DQ check boxes checked), and saved, the non-DQ’d Blue team had a 4-1 record and still only had 8 WP. Based on the definition quoted above, we would have expected both the non-DQ’d Red team and the non-DQ’d Blue team receive 2 WP for the match. The non-DQ’d Blue team either should have had a 5-0 record after the match and 10 WP, or a 4-1 record and 10 WP, but that was not how TM scored it.

I have been told that Tournament Manager is working as intended, which - to me - implies that the definition referenced is not clearly written. Please clarify.

Thanks, Mike
