630: Video Submission for Skills Only
Hi this is not for any specific rule, but wanted to ask guidance for Skills Only competitions.
- We are considering video submissions. What are the guidelines for video submissions? So far, we have that the videos must:
- be unedited
- have visible date/time
- have visible random code to confirm that particular run (or runs) as the official entry
- indicate if programming or driver
- have visible game timer
- have visible driver, coach, field, robot
How do these look? Should we consider removing any of these? Any others you suggest?
-
For video submissions, who does the scoring? Do coaches score their students (which obviously would raise bias concerns). They would send in scores along with the video submissions. Then we use Refs to confirm those scores. Or should Refs just do the scoring without coach input?
-
Do we set a time frame that videos be recorded and submitted? All teams must submit within a 12 hr frame that we send a code? Or just set a deadline and they must submit by then?
-
Best camera placement for observing everything?
Thanks so much for all the awesome work you are doing!
All official guidelines and rules regarding video-based Robot Skills Challenge submissions will be included in the August 14th Game Manual Update. We will not be able to answer any questions (nor will video-based submissions be legal) until this update is released.
