2645: SG7 and GG18 Clarification

<SG7>eii states that contact with blocks that begins on the other side of the autonomous line is a violation. <GG18> states that if a rule is violated through the use of a block instead of a Robot mechanism, the it should be evaluated as if a Robot mechanism

Would the robots in the following scenarios be in Violation of SG7:

  1. While attempting to intake a Block on its side of the autonomous line under a long goal during the autonomous period, a Red alliance robot causes a red block to get knocked into the one of the blue blocks on the other side of the autonomous line, moving it.
  2. While in the process of scoring on a center goal during the autonomous period, a red alliance robot launches a block through the goal, launching a block scored by a blue alliance robot out

Scenario 1 will be addressed by a change to <SG7> in the June 5 game manual update. All Blocks that begin the Match in groups that cross the Autonomous Line are considered to be in contact with the Autonomous Line for the purposes of the rule, and this scenario will not result in a Violation.

Scenario 2 describes standard gameplay, and neither Team should receive a Violation.
