2916: SG7 Autonomous Line Clarification

Hello!

As per SG7 and the Game-Specific Definitions, the Autonomous Line is defined as such

Autonomous Line - The pair of white tape lines that run across the Field, and the space between those lines. SG7 prohibits teams from crossing said line

In SG7, the rule states

During the Autonomous Period, Robots may not contact foam tiles, Blocks, or Field Elements which are on the opposing Alliance’s side of the Autonomous Line.

However, it does not specify whether the white tape line would be considered as part of the opposing Alliance's foam tiles on their side.

Would the following situation be considered a violation: A robot contacts the white tape line that is furthest from them during the autonomous period (the one on the other alliance's side), but does not contact the part of the tile that is not taped.

Thanks, Team 1523W

Hello, Team 1523W!

The tape itself is considered part of the Autonomous Line, as quoted in your question. Contacting the tape, and the space between the two tape lines, is allowed.

Contacting the foam tile past the tape is not.
