Official Q&A: VEX V5 Robotics Competition 2025-2026: Push Back
3103: <GG3> Are Teams Permitted to Charge Pneumatics Beside the Field Before Placing the Robot?
At a recent competition, our team was disallowed from pumping our robot’s pneumatics tanks with an electric pump in the Alliance Station and asked to pump in the queuing area despite already having the robot in the Alliance Station. Although we acknowledge and respect that head referees have the final say, we would like a clarification on the legality of this action for the future.
<GG3.a> states that “Teams who use VEX pneumatics must have their systems charged before they place the Robot on the Field.” However, as per the definitions in the manual, the Field is composed of the Floor and Field Perimeter, from which the Alliance Station is notably absent.
Are teams guaranteed the opportunity to pump in the Alliance Station given that they are not unreasonably delaying the start of the match?

No. However, any event-specific requirements like this one should be applied to all Teams equally, and announced in the pre-event meeting.
