General Info

The Caribbean Robotics Academy (C.R.A.) is proud to host the Puerto Rico National Championship of the VEX Robotics Competition 2022-2023 season in Puerto Rico. The event is open for College and University teams and will also be a qualifier for the VEX Robotics World Championship. The tournament aims to increase student interest and participation in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) by engaging them in robotics and engineering challenges. Beyond science and engineering principles, C.R.A. encourages group creativity, teamwork, leadership, passion, and problem-solving. The staff of C.R.A. is excited to host a VEX Robotics Competition and is ready to give all the teams an exceptional and unforgettable experience.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Teams will be notified, via email, if any event occurs that would jeopardize the C.R.A. - VRC Regional Tournament #1. 

Refund and Payment Policies

Suppose the event is suspended or delayed due to the pandemic or other force majeure. In that case, the cost and registration fees are not refundable. The participating teams shall bear the refund and loss of transportation and accommodation, and the event host shall not assume any responsibility. 

Judging Format

  • Remote Judging (Required for Awards)- The Initial Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, and Engineering Notebooks will be submitted to judges digitally via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact. Initial Interviews will be conducted between January 14-15, 2022, and Notebook submission deadline is January 15, 2023.
  • In-Person Judging - After the remote judging, teams could be judged in-person the day of the event.
