General Info

Welcome to the 2018 Ohio VEX IQ Elementary State Championship! You are being hosted this year by The Ohio State University in Marion, OH.   We are looking forward to another fantastic weekend of competetive robotics for middle school (Friday 2/23/18) and elementary (2/24/18). Please take a look through the entire web page to ensure you are familiar with where the event is being held and the timeline. We will be sure to maintain regular contact with all successful qualifiers to ensure up to date information and the best possible experience.

You must qualify to attend this event from local events.

 

Ohio VEX IQ – Elementary School has been granted 6 World Championship spots:

  • 1 Excellence Award Winner
  • 2 Teamwork Champions
  • 1 Design Award Winner
  • 1 STEM Research Award Winner
  • 1 Robot Skills Champion

If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest ranking team from the World Skills Standings up to and including the State Championship receives the invitation. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at events.vex.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, we will make every attempt to contact all coaches by email, phone or text, as well as make announcements through social media of any changes of the event or the event schedule. 

We will also put all cancelations on WMRN AM 1490 and FM 95.9
