CWU GearUP VEX IQ Tournament Elementary School

General Info

This event will take place in the CWU Hogue building.  

Location and Parking: CWU Campus Hogue Building:  Q 14 or N 19 parking lots are closest to Hogue (See campus map: https://www.cwu.edu/parking/sites/cts.cwu.edu.parking/files/documents/parking-map.pdf​ )

This is the Elementary School Event of original combined Elementary and Middle School Event which has been split into two simultaneous events.  Teams in the Elementary school event will qualify for the Elementary School Division of the State Championships on February 24th, 2018.

WEATHER WARNING

Please check the weather conditions in the morning prior to travel to CWU.  If your team can not come because of weather or is running late please let us know by text at 206 409 4168

If we feel that the weather conditons overall are making travel unsafe or to many districts are cancelling school or transportation, this event maybe cancelled, in which case we will post a notice here.

Event Payment

Registration must be paid within two weeks of registration, teams not having completed payment by that time will be moved to the Waitlist.  Teams registering within two weeks of the event date, must pay immediately - no payments will be collected at the door.

No show

Please make every effort to notify us if you are not plannign to show-up, in particular on the day off.  If you are running late please let us know also so that we may keep you in the match schedule.  Any team which has not checked in are let us know by 9:45AM on the day off that they are running late and planning to particiapte will be removed form the teamlist. Awards

Excellence, Tounament Winners, Design will qualify for State Championship on February 24th, 2018

STEM and Design judging

Teams will be asked during check-in to indicate if they are planning on doing STEM judging, for design judging the engineering notebook will be collected at check-in, if your team has no engineering notebook, you will not be considered for design and excellence award.

Skill Challanges

Teams will be allowed 2 driver and 2 programming skill challenges during the event

Inspection

All robots will need to pass inspection prior to particiapting in the skill challenges and qualification rounds.  No exceptions.  Please ensure your robot has tow clearly visible license plate on opposing sites of the robot. No robot may particiapte usign a tether.  Have your team self inspect their robot prior to arriving at the tournament.  

Lunch

There will be no scheduled lunch break, teams can order food, bring food as they see fit.  Ellensburg has variosu pizza places that will deliver, as well as SUBway close to the facility. We will not have concessions.
