General Info

Welcome to the Idaho VEX IQ state championship.  We look forward to seeing some great robots and interviewing with some great teams!  Please be advised that teams that have not checked in 45 minutes prior to the beginning of the qualifying matches will be dropped from the roster so that the match list may be run. Teams that are running late must contact the event partner prior to this cut off if they do not wish to be dropped.  Depending on how "on time" we start, match cycle times, technical issues, etc., we may elect to run through lunch.  Please be flexible on lunch times.

World Championship Qualification

This event will qualify Idaho VEX IQ teams to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, KY on April 29-May 1, 2018.    The following awards will earn VEX Robotics World Championship spots:

  • (1) Elementary Excellence Award (Note: Since there are no Elementary School teams, this award will not be given this season.)
  • (1) Middle School Excellence Award
  • (2) Tournament Champions

If a team double qualfies for the VEX Robotics World Championships, then the Regional Support Manager will use the Idaho VEX IQ Global Skills list to determine the next qualified team from the appropriate grade level indicated on the VEX IQ Championship Qualifying Criteria. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at events.vex.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

If you have any questions about the qualification process, please contact your Regional Support Manager:
