General Info
The Kirkwood Elementary Robotics club is thrilled to host our 2nd Annual Robotics Tournament! We had a great event last year with various teams performing well. We believe in giving all students an opportunity to explore and engage in robotics and we look forward to providing an exciting and thrilling environment for all!
Kirkwood PTO will be running a concession stand where a variety of snacks will be available for purchase. Menus will be included prior to the tournament.
More information will be provided as the date approaches.
VEX IQ Qualifying Tournament
This VEX IQ event is a qualifying event to the Washington VEX IQ State Championships and is open to all registered Elementary VEX IQ teams. The following awards will qualify to the Washington State Championship:
(1) - Excellence
(2) - Teamwork Champions
(1) - Design
The event must meet the VEX IQ Qualifying Criteria for the results to upload to RobotEvents, which can be viewed in the Uploaded Documents event tab. The state qualification spots are determined by the capacity of the State Championship, the number of events in the state, and the size of the event. If there is an out-of-state/region/province/nation team, or a team that double qualifies from the event (not from previous events or other methods), that spot will go to the next highest unqualified team on the Robot Skills ranking at that event. There is no look-back to previous events to see if a team has previously qualified. These spots will be filled by the Regional Support Manager after the event has been uploaded and the results have been verified. Tournaments are a great time to see our students' time, practice, and dedication pay off in competition. Tournaments take a lot of time and effort to set up, run, and clean up. We ask that we all do our part and ensure that we help out all of the students in preparing, competing, packing up, and cleaning up.
If you are interested or have parents who may be interested in volunteering, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
The event planner will contact all participating teams in the event of snow, road closures, and other unforeseen events that affect the health and safety of teams or the teams' ability to get to the venue.
The event will be rescheduled if it needs to be postponed.
Be sure that your contact information is current and up to date on RobotEvents.
Refund and Payment Policies
Refunds will be issued up to 14 days prior to this event if a replacement team is available to fill a vacated spot. Refunds will not be issued after that time except in the case of very extenuating circumstances at the event partners discretion. Please be aware that the event partners have fixed costs and rely on team registrations to meet these obligations.
