International School Dongguan VEX IQ Challenge

General Info

Thank you so much for your interest in coming to the International School of Dongguan's first ever VEX competitive event.

This event is intended for International Schools in China and as such will be undertaken using English as the main language.

Although this is a full VEX IQ Competitive Event, we are sorry to note that there are no invitations to the VEX Worlds in 2019 available at this event:  unfortunately, there are no more places available.  However, we will be awarding trophies and certificates to Teams as usual.

PAYMENT
Payment options are outlined on the Payment Information Tab:  please pay using one of these as soon as possible to confirm Registration.

Payment can be made through WeChat / Alipay (QR Code) OR by way of a Bank Transfer.  Please add 'ISD VEX IQ Challenge' and contact the school after making payment so that we can check success / ensure that it is credited to the correct account.

HOTELS
ISD is a little way out of the city centre, but both of these hotels will be seviced by our Transportation (see below)

The Kande International Hotel is a very nice hotel in the centre of Dongguan which has walking access to many restaurants and the two biggest malls in Dongguan:  there should be plenty to occupy yourselves for an evening around here.  However, it is going to be an expensive option!

The Winnerway Hotel is a very nice hotel with plenty of eating options around it, but it is a bit further from the central shopping district.  It is closer to ISD, though (and cheaper).

Although we are offering transportation from either of the above hotels on the morning of the competition, we are equally prepared to pick-up teams from any other hotel on/close to the route from the city centre to the school:  please get in touch with [email protected] with any suggestions / requirements.

TRANSPORTATION
ISD will offer transportation on the morning of the competition from either of the above hotels.  Pick-up time will be 8am from the Kande International Hotel and 8:10am from the Winnerway Hotel.  As stated above, if teams choose to stay in another hotel close to the route to the school, we will collect you on the way to ISD in the morning.

Teams should organise their own transportation from the competition (as I am presuming that each group will have their own return travel plans).  If you require assistance organising this, please get in touch at [email protected] and I will see what I can do.

MEALS & SNACKS
Lunch is included with the registration. There are free water dispensers throughout the school. Additonal snacks can be purchased at designated areas.
