General Info
Los Altos Robotics is pleased to be hosting its third annual VEX Tournament on December 1, 2019 at Blach Intermediate School in Los Altos. The event is open to middle and elementary school teams.
Los Altos Robotics is a small community organization dedicated to introducing children to robotics. We are not affiliated with a school or any other organization and consequently we REQUIRE each team to provide volunteers and/or competition fields as a condition of participating in the tournament. If your team is not able to provide volunteers then please do not register for this tournament. We will ask you for a preferred time slot for your volunteer role and we will try to accommodate you as best we can with a volunteer assignment. However, the jobs will be assigned on a first to volunteer basis so it is possible you may be assigned another time slot if you are one of the later teams to provide a volunteer. Here is a list of some of the volunteer roles: https://www.roboticseducation.org/volunteer-resources/
Teams must provide volunteers by November 22. Teams that have not provided a volunteer by that date will be dropped in favor of teams on the waiting list.
We will offer space for 24 teams with a maximum of three teams per school.
Parking is on school grounds or on the street.
LATE Arrivals
Teams must be checked in 45 minutes prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedule may be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.
Team Payment
Teams must pay the registration fees by November 11. Teams not paid by that date will be dropped in favor of teams on the waiting list. Teams that advise the event partner by November 22 that they are withdrawing from the tournament will receive a refund of their registration fee, less the $5 fee charged by VEX.
If we are unable to hold the event due to an emergency then the event partner will refund the registration fees.
