IMPORTANT UPDATE

Thursday March 12, 10:00 AM

IL State Event Partner Troy Blunier and the other event leaders including the Illinois TSA manager and the other VRC event partners assisting with the operation of the event, and in consultation with the REC Foundation, the Illinois State University administration, and the McLean County Health Department, have decided to postpone all Illinois State VEX Robotics Championship events until further notice.

World Championship spots will be filled according to the guidelines to be announced by the REC Foundation for Championship events that have been canceled or postponed.

More information will be forthcoming later today or tomorrow. We wanted to get this immediate notice out so coaches, team members, families, and volunteers are able to cancel travel arrangements as possible.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work our way through this unprecedented, unpredictable, and rapidly changing situation.

Please check here for the latest information on the status of the 2020 Illinois VEX Robotics State Championships.

Welcome

This is the Illinois State Championship for VEX IQ Elementary School teams. This event is the largest event in Illinois, with teams from VRC high school, VRC middle school, VEX IQ middle school, and VEX IQ elementary school all competing under one roof.

This is a one-day event on Saturday May 14. Please check the Agenda tab for details.

Illinois VEX IQ – Elementary School has been granted 3 World Championship spots:

1 Excellence Award Winner
2 Teamwork Champions

If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest ranking team from the World Skills Standings up to and including the State Championship receives the invitation. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are offered after the results of the State Championship have been posted at events.vex.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.
